Chapter Thirteen
Shortly after Jessica left Tom sat back in his chair, his gaze taking in his surroundings. The room was tastefully decorated, as was the rest of the house, with various objects he had collected during his frequent travels. He closed his eyes and enjoyed the softness of his chair and the rich smoky aroma of the cigar that burned in the ashtray on his desk. His risks had paid off well, he thought. With a chuckle, he thought about the way his life had turned out. Not a person in his life ever believed he could be in the position he was in. Not that anyone had ever spoken it, but he knew…he felt it in their looks and heard the murmurs behind his back. Hell, even his own sister had her doubts about him. To be honest, that hurt him a little. He opened his eyes and reached for the glass of scotch. God, he couldn’t wait to be finished with his work here so he could head back to his real home in Belize. Hell, for that matter he could go to the villa in the south of France and be perfectly happy. He truly laughed aloud when it occurred to him that no one, not even his sister, realized that this place was nothing…in fact, it was what he considered his shack of a home, when in others’ eyes it was high-end. Tom took one last swallow from the glass and walked out of the office toward the kitchen where he dropped off the glass and pulled the cell phone from his pocket. “Meet me in thirty at the warehouse. I want this transaction over with,” he said as he walked to his bedroom. God, Jessica would so totally lecture me…hell, she would probably arrest me if she knew what I was doing here. It wasn’t his fault he was creative and found ways to get merchandise to people. They paid him damned good money for his creativity.

James Foreman pulled into his driveway glad the day was over. He opened the car door and stepped out, rolling his shoulders as he came to his full height. He couldn’t wait to kick off his shoes and to have a whiskey and soda in his hand as he relaxed in his recliner. He opened the front door and walked in. As he placed his keys on the small table in the foyer he called out for his wife. “Hey, Mon, I’m home. What’s for dinner, I’m starved.” He walked into the living room thumbing through the mail as he went.
“Hi, honey,” Monica Foreman said as she walked up to him and placed a kiss on his cheek. “Look who stopped in to see us,” she said as she walked behind the bar to fix James’s drink.
“Hey there, James, how’s it going?” Mason said as he stood from where he was seated at the sofa.
“Mason. This is a nice surprise, what brings you by?” Foreman said, hoping his wife
